Family Statement on the Passing of Ronnie Spector:
Our beloved earth angel, Ronnie, peacefully left this world today after a brief battle with cancer. She was with family and in the arms of her husband, Jonathan.
Ronnie lived her life with a twinkle in her eye, a spunky attitude, a wicked sense of humor and a smile on her face. She was filled with love and gratitude.
Her joyful sound, playful nature and magical presence will live on in all who knew, heard or saw her.
In lieu of flowers, Ronnie requested that donations be made to your local women’s shelter or to the American Indian College Fund.
A celebration of Ronnie’s life and music will be announced in the future.
The family respectfully asks for privacy at this time.
I usually would find out news about the deaths of persons I only knew from internet/media (celebrities, for example; I never met Ronnie Spector in person, but have posted to her facebook in the past more than once) much later after their deaths, because I would not have internet at home, and would go to a free internet place (like the public library) to do my internet stuff (and that's when I do not take a leave from the internet). But for about the last year I have been paying for my internet so have always had easy access to it at home, so being up to date on news on celebrities is more frequent. Although 8 days after Ronnie Spector passed away I now know about, it is still far quicker than me knowing of a monk named Bhikkhu Samahita whose passing I found out about a year after, or of the singer Kenny Rogers who I found out passed away maybe months or even about a year after the fact (because of the same "only know through the internet", no internet connection at home, and taking leaves from the internet reasons).
May you be well, may you be happy, Ronnie Spector.
